Principal Financial Group Assistant Director Advanced Solutions in Des Moines, Iowa
What You'll Do
The Assistant Director of Advance Solutions will provide critical support on complex tax and accounting issues, including estate, business, executive benefit, and financial planning cases, to advisors and their clients and prospects as well as monitoring and interpreting legislative and regulatory matters!
Provide expertise, analysis, and recommendations to producers, regional market centers, home office and/or clients' professional advisors, including point-of-sale assistance on highly complex, large cases..
Draft, design and deliver marketing, sophisticated written materials, courses, and seminars for producers, attorneys, marketing, trust officers, accountants, producers and CPAs.
Maintain and provide the highest level of expertise in tax and legal matters.
Participate in strategic workforce planning for the business and advanced solutions area. Work with and through other departments to provide effective solutions and systems.

Who You Are
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, admittance to the bar in at least one state, plus 4 years related experience, or
CPA designation and 7 years related experience or
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business preferred and 10 years related experience
Understanding of the sales process and comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws relating to tax planning and business insurance, qualified plans as well as an appreciation of product features and market trends
A CLU, ChFC, and/or CFP designation is preferred
FINRA Series 6 registration is required or must be obtained within 18 months of employment
This position may be subject to SEC restrictions on personal political contributions

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$123000 - $167000 / year

Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
