Meta Associate General Counsel, Product in Des Moines, Iowa

Summary:

Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel supporting a number of teams responsible for Instagram growth, privacy, and security, and managing Instagram’s terms and policies and compliance initiatives. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel, Product Responsibilities:

  1. Advise on and drive legal strategy for Instagram growth, privacy, security, key terms and policies, and compliance initiatives

  2. Review Instagram features and business initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions

  3. Build, manage, and mentor a team of experienced attorneys and legal professionals

  4. Work cross-functionally with Meta’s legal, business, and product teams

  5. Coordinate with privacy, public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing and other cross-functional teams on product development

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar

  2. 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm or in-house experience (applicable product counseling, regulatory, litigation, and/or compliance experience)

  3. Managerial experience

  4. Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams

  1. Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms

  2. Experience working on product counseling, regulatory, litigation, and compliance matters

  3. Experience in youth security, integrity, intermediary liability, competition, and terms and policies

  4. Experience working on privacy legal issues and privacy counseling
