Job Description

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle FSGBU has created the position for a Banking and Financial Services Compliance Director for US Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management to further support progressive transformation in the United States.

Job Description:

In this role you will work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for US banking regulatory compliance. As a member of the product strategy team for Oracle Banking solutions, you will contribute to the definition of product specifications and strategy to enable regulatory compliance: gather and analyze information from regulatory agencies, participate in industry forums, direct customer user groups to define product specifications and contribute to the review of design specifications from a compliance point of view. You will also communicate FSGBU’s strategy for regulatory compliance enablement and the functionality necessary to accomplish it and publish regulatory communications to our clients. You will also be required to support sales and pre-sales teams in business development opportunities. You will need to initiate and foster relationships with other groups to ensure proper regulatory compliance coverage and scope. You will also review product documentation and collateral to ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.


  • Provide consistent high quality and innovative leadership on core banking regulations by interacting with various stakeholders within Oracle and partners / clients when necessary

  • Be a financial services regulatory and compliance expert and trusted advisor to the product organization by effectively influencing decisions across relevant software development life cycle stages.

  • Analyze and understand the various federal and state level compliances for banking applications on customer management, deposit, loans, teller, and payment operations including best practices for regulatory needs.

  • Effectively apply Oracle’s methodologies, policies, and procedures to compliance.

  • Develop and deliver high quality presentations and demonstrations, present and articulate product features, and benefits, and configure and test the overall solution from a compliance point of view.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders, partners, customers, and senior management.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and all applicable federal and state level compliances for the banking and credit union industry across front-office origination as well as back-office servicing.

  • Support the business development effort for new and expansion opportunities through scoping, solutioning and presentations.

  • Promote knowledge by sharing lessons learned, innovations or new skills with team members

Ideal Candidate should have the following qualifications/skills:

  • Experience in the areas of retail banking operations with financial institutions in senior risk management or compliance roles (10+ years)

  • Detailed knowledge of banking regulations (both federal and state) applicable to Banks and Credit Unions

  • Necessary industry banking certifications for regulatory compliance

  • Consistent participation in banking regulatory forums or regulatory industry events in banking.

  • Experience working with banking software development teams in different stages of software development

  • Proficient in translating regulatory requirements into business requirements.

  • Proficient in writing, updating, and creating content from regulatory requirements to be consumed by software product managers.
