What You Will Do :

Client Relationship Executive (Utilities Business Development Director) role is responsible for business development strategy and sales execution to support the growth of ESI’s Energy Provider account portfolio. The ideal Client Relationship Executive (Utilities Business Development Director) will possess a broad understanding of the Energy/Utilities industry and is knowledgeable across a range of topics including decarbonization, infrastructure resiliency, climate resiliency, DERs, and beneficial electrification. As part of the Southeast market team, Client Relationship Executive (Utilities Business Development Director) will seek to position value added services with clients and enhance Guidehouse’s position in the market. The Client Relationship Executive (Utilities Business Development Director) role demands an extremely well networked client relationship/business development professional with existing network contacts in the utilities and energy industry in the South & Mid-Atlantic US.

Strategic Relationship Developer and Solution Seller:

  • Consultative selling of complex, transformational solutions that deliver outcome-based results to energy providers and utilities

  • Trusted Advisor to Clients (adept at bringing creative solutions to senior level client relationships) Expands Guidehouse’s client positioning by bringing the entirety of our solution portfolio to our Energy Providers and Utilities clientele

  • Prepares and delivers clear, insightful, and influential executive-level presentations and communications Seasoned business developer in identifying, initiating and closing new commercial opportunities with existing clients and new clients.

  • Understanding of client needs based upon an understanding of the Energy Providers and Utilities marketplace, client’s changing operational needs and the evolving needs of their end-customers

  • In-depth understanding of Energy Providers and Utilities market, key issues driving transformation in the sector, understanding of key supporting technologies and leading industry vendors

  • Participating in Account Teams Serve as a sales advisor to account team leadership on solution definition and account strategy.

  • Play a leading role in key developing and closing key pursuits in a portfolio of select, named accounts

What You Will Need :

  • Must have 10+ years of professional services sales experience within the Utilities consulting industry The successful candidate will bring deep expertise and background gained in Energy & Utilities and should have a track record of developing and implementing growth strategies in the Utilities industry. It is important that this individual have the executive presence and gravitas to work with Guidehouse’s most senior executive leadership

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior level Utilities management teams, demonstrating expert teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • The successful candidate will display deep sales acumen and have excellent communication skills

  • Strong presence and relationships with C-Suite/VP levels within our targeted Energy/Utility organizations

  • In depth understanding on the major issues (e.g., budgets, priorities, etc.), competitors, and key market trends in the industry

  • Clearly demonstrated business development and selling experience in the range of $4+ million/yr

  • Skilled at issue-based problem-solving, aligning consulting solutions to address client needs

  • Ability to negotiate complex and strategic contracts on significant opportunities

  • Able to travel per client and organizational demands (travel up to 80%)

  • Bachelor's degree accredited university

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

  • This position is open to candidate virtually from Washington DC; Richmond, VA; Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA.

You are expected to build relationships at all levels of the company, so you can effectively leverage all the resources Guidehouse as needed

The annual salary range for this position is $151,400.00-$227,100.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
