LifeServe Blood Center, a non-profit company, is currently looking for a candidate with strong attention to detail and the desire to provide exceptional customer service to our hospital partners and the patients they serve right here in Central Iowa. You will be working in our state-of-the-art laboratory, and can expect to move through the career ladder to more skills and responsibility, along with opportunity for additional wage increases. Base wages start around $15 per hour. Additional shift differential is also available for hours worked after 6:00 PM. Employees in this position are eligible for a full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, critical illness, supplemental insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and a company matching 403b. Approximately 4 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) will start to accrue on day 1. Primary Responsibilities for this Position Include:
Process blood components according to established policy and SOP.
Perform review of component manufacturing and equipment related documentation and release of quality control results.
Perform and document calibration and maintenance tasks.
Identify, troubleshoot and document problems that may influence the quality or completion of blood manufacturing.
Assist with validation of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
Maintains confidentiality of LifeServe Blood Center donor, employee, financial and proprietary records and information at all times.
Demonstrate qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to the organization's mission.
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Exhibits strong attention to detail with excellent organization and communication skills
Proficiency with computers is a must; experience with MS Office is preferred
Ability to multi-task and set priorities according to fluctuating demands
Works effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team, and adaptable to change
Must exercise initiative and apply critical problem-solving skills
