Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and hands-on Assistant Foreman. This role offers the chance to assist in leading a production crew of up to 8 individuals in the creation of structural and architectural precast concrete products. You will be tasked with setting up, verifying, and pouring these products, and will be expected to maintain formwork and work areas in clean and safe conditions at all times. You will also aid in rigorous employee training and cross-training, and will promote our strict quality standards, striving for zero non-conformances. In the event of a quality error, you will assist in determining and eliminating its root cause to prevent recurrence. You will also be required to collaborate with Management, Production, Quality Control, and other support departments. You will supervise your crew in a manner that focuses on increasing productivity and lowering material cost while maintaining expected levels of quality.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa.

Work Environment

This role operates in a busy, physically demanding environment. The shift pattern is from 6am until the job is done, Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime during the summer, our busiest time of year. The environment can be dirty and dusty due to the yard being dirt-based. Some work may occur outside, and as such, candidates must be willing to work in any weather condition as we operate year-round. The team size typically ranges from 6 to 10 members. Dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and weather-appropriate tops. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, and other necessary equipment will be provided based on tenure and department.
