Description We are offering a role for a Controller based in Des Moines, Iowa. The primary function of this role is to manage and oversee the financial processes within our manufacturing business. This role is a key part of our team, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial reports, managing consolidated financials, and overseeing internal audits and compliance testing.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation of various financial reports, ledgers, financial statements, and balance sheets with accuracy and efficiency.
• Handle the month-end close process, including the development and recording of entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Analyze and interpret financial data, identifying trends or concerns, and providing viable recommendations to leadership.
• Conduct financial modeling, including quarterly forecasts.
• Play a key role in the budget preparation process.
• File various sales, use, income tax returns, and other regulatory filings for the company.
• Establish and maintain controls which verify the integrity of all related systems, processes, and data.
• Collaborate regularly with internal teams to achieve business and sales strategies.
• Coordinate and prioritize financial-related projects.
• Monitor and evaluate costing data, and develop strategies to maximize cost in all areas of the business.
• Manage the financial reporting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable departments.
• Assist in implementing a new ERP system. Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Controller.
• Proficiency in Budget Processes is a must.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures is required.
• Capability to create Ad Hoc Reporting is essential.
• Expertise in Financial Modeling is needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using financial software and databases.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction.
• Knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of finance and accounting.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Experience in supervising and managing professional staff is desirable.
