Description

Our Des Moines, Iowa client that is growing through acquisition has an exciting opportunity for the right, sink your teeth in, controller!! Jump in with both feet, combine two independent companies and create a new chart of accounts, integrate and create processes and procedures. Be the right hand to the President and have a seat at the executive leadership table. This position will lead a team and give the organization confidence in the financials. Must have at least 5 years of full cycle accounting experience, BS in Accounting, (CPA preferred) integration / consolidation experience, strong leadership skills (no new leaders considered) and fit the core values (team, leadership, drive, ownership, professional and hard working.
Requirements
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Great attention to detail
Prior management experience required
BA/BS in Accounting
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Proficiency in Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
Demonstrated knowledge of risk management
GAAP Accounting experience preferred
General familiarity with Business Banking Relationship
Adeptness in Cash Flow Analysis
Background working with payroll management
Practical knowledge of Multi-state Payroll for oversite
Financial Statement experience required
Budget Processes experience highly desired
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
