Job TitleData EngineerJob DescriptionI. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.The Data Engineer works on moderate to complex data program analysis and data programming assignments. This position performs systems analysis with a focus on internal standards, coding, testing, security, and documentation. This role assists in determining specification and develops, assists, modifies and expands new and existing programs. Assist in developing best practices for the BI Technology engineering team.The ideal candidate for this job will be proficient in Python/SQL Developer and will work with business partners in Editorial, Advertising, Marketing, Digital, Financial and other IT teams. The candidate must have background in a RDBMS such as Snowflake, Teradata, or BigQuery. Exposure to cloud infrastructures and best practices is a must. Experience with AWS is preferred. Experience with the Google Cloud platform is a plus. This position will provide guidance and knowledge to staff in the creation of code for data extraction, loading, view creation, analytics, business support, and visualization assistance when needed. One must be able to provide Python and SQL code, and scheduling solutions for the business. Responsible for maintenance of existing code and processes.This position will be responsible for table development and maintenance of the data warehouse, data integration between multiple data sources and lines of business, and testing. This position will also be expected to utilize and at times build API to receive data. In addition, this position will be an administrator of one of the key pieces of technology that is critical to Meredith's BI Technology staff. He/she will need to communicate with the business as to the status of work and may be required to assist newer members of the team at times.II.
