Responsibilities

  • Operates PC, fax machine, copy machine and other office equipment as necessary.

  • Demonstrates proper phone etiquette and utilization of computers, including completion of exam, data entry, charting during procedure and prior to imaging.

  • Checks surgery and imaging records for completeness and follows up with appropriate personnel to ensure records are completed.

  • Collects and stickers patient charts.

  • Greets patient/visitors, check in each patient, and announces their arrival to appropriate area(s).

  • Acts as a liaison for patients and their families in the waiting room.

  • Communicates appropriately with staff, physicians, and other departments with the ability to prioritize in an environment that is often hectic and subject to frequent interruptions.

  • Performs registration functions as needed. Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in collecting patient demographics and insurance information from various sources.

  • Escort/transport patients as needed.

  • Manages office supply inventory

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred or high school equivalency.

  • Typing ability and basic computer skills.

  • One-year administrative experience preferred.

  • Medical terminology preferred.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
