Job Summary

Primary Purpose:

  • Works under general direction of Strategic Services Director and Integrated Solutions Leader to promote and maintain a “digital water” environment, leveraging business intelligence and analytic tools as part of an overall digitalization strategy.

  • Maintains a sound understanding of the pace and direction of digital transformation in the utilities sector and ensures Black & Veatch maintains its market position.

  • Engage with thought leadership communities and industry groups providing input and demonstrating Black & Veatch’s position as innovators in the digital water space.

  • Supports strategies established for predictive analytics and technical/tool development.

  • Translates business needs into long-term, repeatable, digital solutions for clients.

Business Goals

  • Working with Strategic Services Team Leadership, develop and execute a plan to accelerate market share of Digital Water aligned with broader Black & Veatch and Water Business goals and strategies

  • Collaborate with Practice Leaders, Market Leaders and CRMs for strategic account development, opportunity pursuits, and engagementsBuild key client relationships with influencers and generate confidence, trust and respect in the board room

  • Position Black & Veatch’s Digital Water as a leader and deepen relationships with current and potential high growth clients, industry partners, developers

  • Champion the OneBV approach and build alignment with counterparts across the company

  • Understand the competitive landscape and emerging developments in the regional markets Support business development activities / proposals while developing business across regions

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the strategic direction and growth plan of Digital Water across Water Business.

  • Works with Managing Directors/CDs across Water to identify business needs of clients engaged in digital transformation, and to translate these business needs into long term solutions.

  • Collaborates with subject matter experts across the global Water business, CIO’s office, Water Business Chief Engineer to develop sustainable strategies to meet client requirements.

  • Develops solutions in line with wider group initiatives within Black & Veatch.

  • Advocates the use of modern database technology platforms and associated toolsets and techniques to develop and/or redesign business applications.

  • Identifies, employs and supervises key resources as part of a Digital Water team.

  • Trains professionals in digital transformation, leveraging on the knowledge base and skillsets available across Black & Veatch

  • Presents at conferences to promote Black & Veatch’s drive towards Digital Water Solutions including Intelligent Water and Simulation Solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge of Data Analytics processes with large scale data volume, preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on Data Analytics, software and hardware solutions with business intelligence platforms and software packages, preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in Water Industry focused application of digital solutions for process enhancement, system resiliency and information access/security

  • Demonstrated experience in business developmentSQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, Amazon Web Services, OneClick and other cloud services, or Azure knowledge from an architecture standpoint, preferred.

  • General Business Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization, including budget management, preferred.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's Degree in (Data Analytics, Information & Communications Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field).

Experience: 15+ years professional experience

  • 5+ years in ICT (software and hardware) for development and application of solutions

  • 5+ years in digital platforms development, IoT and IIoT applications, product and digital solutions development, technology development and sales services with a utility or an equipment/technology company, preferably in a water related environment

  • Working knowledge and experience with programming languages such as Java, C# (CS), .NET, and similar, as well as digital security/cybersecurity tools and safeguards for data
