I. Summary

It is the responsibility of the incumbent to establish and maintain electronic data interchange (EDI) functions across the Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) enterprise procurement and accounts payable supply chain. Assess requests from materials management and accounts payable. Manages day-to-day partnership with Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX), our Value Added Network (VAN) and other VANs. Coordinate direct file transfer protocol (FTP) and secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) EDI vendor setup with accounts payable and interface team. Coordinate with the material management and accounts payable to develop documented BSMH electronic commerce policies and procedures. Develop associated documentation; provide EDI Production support and perform/lead EDI Testing.

II. Essential Job Functions

  • Receives and determines electronic commerce opportunities with various material management and AP vendors that conduct business with Bon Secours Mercy Health

  • Manages day-to-day partnership with GHX and works with representatives of GHX along with BSMH Supply Chain and AP vendors to establish various electronic commerce record types including 850, 855, 856, 810 and 832 transactions. Responsible to analyze errors and correct errors as necessary to ensure quality of electronic commerce transactions

  • Coordinates with the Supply Chain leaders to develop and implement documented BSMH electronic commerce procedures related to the implementation of electronic commerce across the enterprise

  • Develops documentation associated to the use and on-going maintenance of all electronic commerce conversion and implementation activities. Includes development and maintenance of all electronic commerce training documents. Includes electronic commerce troubleshooting as well as owning support issues related to electronic commerce. Works closely with representatives of GHX to resolve issues as required

  • Works closely with Materials Management and AP to ensure that the local system Materials Management and AP departments have a good understanding and are up to date on the EDI processes

  • Works directly with Interface team for setup of secure file transfers and maintenance of EDI interface jobs

  • Enforces stringent electronic commerce conversion and implementation change management procedures, including testing, documentation and end user signature acceptance to adequately validate the testing of various electronic commerce transactions

  • Ensures appropriate controls, maintenance and enforcement of required electronic security activities to support conversion of vendors to GHX Value Added Network (VAN)

  • Provides leadership in the understanding and use of electronic commerce across the enterprise. Develops electronic commerce scope documents that identify opportunity to streamline processing and reduce costs to BSMH by the use of electronic transactions to various Supply Chain and AP vendors. Works closely with various Supply Chain or AP personnel to validate the opportunity to streamline and enhance supply chain transactions

III.Employment Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 2 years of Healthcare EDI experience

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Extensive knowledge of ERP Systems

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 4+ years of Healthcare EDI experience
