AFNA makes flexible packaging solutions for food and beverage, healthcare, and home and personal care applications.Job DescriptionThis role provides technical support to the Maintenance Team. Maintain Electrical and Controls Systems and perform a vital role in designing and developing systems for manufacturing operations. They will design layout, materials and information flow, or machine placement. They will also be responsible for increasing production efficiency by evaluating performance and proposing and implementing improvements. In the role of a controls engineer, you will oversee the Maintenance of various types of Production and supporting equipment. This position will troubleshoot, modify, research, test, and analyze ideas for possible system and process improvements. Success in this role will be demonstrated by meeting safety and quality standards while driving revenue increases through improved production processes.This role has no direct reports.WHAT YOU GET TO DOActs as a machine controls and electrical subject matter expert and assists Maintenance in troubleshooting machine control problems when additional resources and skills are needed.When necessary, will be a focal person to work with external technical resources to problem solve and implement solutions.Will develop and monitor the training program for the Electrical Maintenance team.Assists in Machine upgrade projects, including investigations, cost estimates, project planning, installation, and start-up.Learns new capital equipment operation, controls structure, design, and hardware to troubleshoot and provide training to the electrical team.Assists Project Engineering with equipment installation, checkout, start-up, and training as needed.Secures, maintains and applies knowledge of current industry practice for safe work practices and safe equipment operation. Examples are National and State electrical codes and NFPA70E (Arc Flash) codes.May serve as a critical source for the completion of preventative Maintenance on electrical substations and high voltage switchgear.Supports the electrical team in troubleshooting machine electrical systems, calibrations, safety teams, continuous improvement teams to continuously improve operations ( including safety, quality, service, and costs).Supports the Maintenance Team directly by working alongside, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment.WHAT WE VALUEKnowledge of PLCs, Drives, Mot
