The purpose of this position is to run and support the implementation of energy initiatives across a large portfolio of properties.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Ensures that global energy and sustainability standards are applied throughout owned, leased, and managed properties within the account.

  • Improves and updates annual Energy Management Plan and initiatives and reports on performance.

  • Responsible for identifying and implementing energy projects, cost saving strategies and budgeting for utilities.

  • Monitors and reports on energy use and spending trends. Develops and presents monthly energy efficiency status and variance reports to client.

  • Engages account team to build a culture of sustainability, and to identify and develop energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and climate adaptation projects.

  • Collaborates with the global platform on the implementation and management of energy projects in a timely and accurate fashion.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Five years of related experience and/or training.

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES

CEM preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements.

Interpersonal Communication

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including internal and external stakeholder engagement. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Good presentation skills. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

Financial knowledge

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts financial analysis.

Reasoning ability

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Experience in working with mechanical/HVAC and electrical/automation systems including BAS. Experience with energy utilities and energy management. Carbon reporting and climate adaptation experience or training would be beneficial.

Scope of responsibility

Decisions made with detailed understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.

California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $65,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $77,500 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
