How you will make an impact?

This role is a key member of the Bulk Elemental Analysis business within Spectroscopy and will be responsible for financial planning and analysis activities within the business, as well as provide financial business partner support to Global business. This role works closely with the General Manager, Operations and BU leadership team to achieve the Company’s overall goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of FP&A for the Spectroscopy business unit which is comprised of four product lines, Vibrational, UVNN, Material Characterization and Bulk Elemental Analysis.

  • Leadership and oversight of the Commercial Finance team, driving strong growth, pricing, and margin expansion.

  • Coordinate the planning initiatives which include the Annual Operating Plan as well as the 5-Year strategic plan.

  • Partner with Spectroscopy leadership team to drive financial execution and help identify and complete efficiency initiatives in the business. Partner with global functions include Sourcing & Supply Chain, Planning, Global Quality, Distribution & Logistics, Facilities & EH&S, and Product Data Management.

  • Coordinate capital appropriation process which includes ensuring timely reviews and approvals as well as align with Ops Leadership in order to achieve our financial commitments.

  • Evolve the financial reporting to include all acquisitions and other relevant financial data to allow for robust financial reporting in support of our goals

  • Work closely with Ops Finance Divisional business partners to align on the efficient divisional reporting to support our customer requirements and management reporting structure.

  • Support Ad-hoc internal, group, and corporate requests as needed.

  • Improve on data intensive tools with a focus on automating the close process; identify, communicate and recommend/implement corrective actions.

  • Prepare accurate and timely analyses that communicates business results, variances, and performance trends and makes recommendations to drive improvement.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 10+ years of direct experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting leadership within a large, operating company

  • Manufacturing experience with knowledge of key accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial reporting for a multi-faceted organization

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment preferred

  • History of driving business performance

  • Strong team building skills and shown ability to work with a diverse group of people in a global-matrixed environment

  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers, and upper management

  • Shown success attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining high-potential talent

  • Self-motivated; bias for action

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Travel up to 20-25%, domestically and internationally
