Principal Financial Group Financial Analyst II in Des Moines, Iowa
What You'll Do
As a Financial Analyst II in Capital Markets, you will learn the art of the deal – how to analyze, structure, negotiate, and complete transactions on behalf of Principal’s operating businesses and the broader Principal enterprise! You will work on projects involving mergers and acquisitions and business development.
Responsibilities include:
Provide analytical expertise, financial analysis, valued research, and leadership in support of complex projects involving coordination between departments and interaction with senior management and external advisors.
Ad-hoc research and analysis for decision making while working with external investment banks and advisors to gain additional market intelligence.
Partner with team members to guide business divisions on business develop needs (i.e., M&A targets, potential JV partners), including sourcing, screening, and analyzing new opportunities, coordinating due diligence, supporting negotiations, etc.
Influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization with insights and recommendations of Capital Markets team across M&A and Business Development.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance, or equivalent experience required.
1+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Self motivated with excellent problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills required.
Demonstrates the ability to embrace and understand the change process, and effectively guides others through change.
Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn is preferred.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$51000 - $147600 / year
