Principal Financial Group Financial Analyst III -Principal Securities in Des Moines, Iowa
What You'll Do
Principal is looking for a Financial Analyst III to join our Principal Securities Finance team! You'll partner closely with Principal Securities management, Principal Financial Network, and other areas across the enterprise. Principal Securities and Principal Financial Network sit at a unique nexus within the Principal enterprise, serving as an important distribution channel for each domestic business unit and most products.
Responsibilities:
Own and evolve the Principal Securities financial forecast Excel model and leverage Excel model templates to underwrite offers for Principal Financial Network’s new recruits.
Review and analyze financial results and forecasts for Principal Securities; clearly communicate observations.
Build new financial models in Excel to support ad hoc financial analyses, including cost/benefit, pricing, and cost structure analyses. Seek opportunities to streamline existing analyses.
Build intuitive visualizations to communicate trends and provide valuable insights; collaborate with PSI CFO to prepare Board and other presentation materials.
Work towards self-development by growing knowledge of Principal Securities, Principal Financial Network, Principal’s domestic lines of business, and industry.

Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree required. Finance preferred
2+ years of related experience required
Experience with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel financial modeling, data visualization, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated proficiency and desire to learn, with the ability to understand and interpret financial statements
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Adaptability to change and willingness to hit deadlines
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
- FINRA licensing including Series 27
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$71300 - $96000 / year
