Robert Half General Office Clerk in Des Moines, Iowa

Description

Robert Half is looking for a knowledgeable General Office Clerk on behalf of an insurance company in the Des Moines metro. This person will perform various administrative and clerical tasks to support our office. An effective office clerk has the ability to work diligently to help maintain smooth office operations. You will undertake a variety of activities in the office ranging from filing and answering the phone to basic bookkeeping and customer service. You will also be in charge of maintaining a positive environment for employees and clients that come into the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible.

  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders when necessary.

  • Answer the phone to take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues.

  • Be a welcoming face to those who arrive on site.

  • Assist in office management and organization procedures.

  • Perform some bookkeeping activities and update employee and customer profiles as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an office clerk or other clerical position.

  • Working knowledge of office devices and processes.

  • A fast typist with knowledge in MS office

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • High school diploma; further training will be a plus.
