Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

Responsible for cleaning various floors of the plant (cannot be afraid of heights). The role involves walking up and down 4-5 flights of steps several times throughout the shift, shoveling various forms of feed and processed soybeans that have fallen out of machines to be disposed of, loading trucks and rail cars with feed, and rotating between cleaning the facility, shoveling, and production roles/machine operation.

Responsibilities

  • Clean various floors of the plant

  • Walk up and down 4-5 flights of steps multiple times per shift

  • Shovel feed and processed soybeans that have fallen out of machines

  • Dispose of excess materials

  • Load trucks and rail cars with feed

  • Rotate between cleaning, shoveling, and production roles

  • Operate machinery as needed

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of production experience

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English

  • Ability to work various shifts on a rotational or swing schedule

  • Capability to work at heights

Work Environment

The work environment can get dusty due to the powdered product. The temperature varies greatly with the seasons, and the facility can be somewhat dark. Strong smells and soy powdered product are present, making it unsuitable for individuals with severe allergies. Shifts include an 8-hour rotational or swing schedule. Initial onboarding hours are 8AM-4PM, followed by training shifts from 7AM-3:30PM, Monday to Friday. After training, shifts will rotate: 2 days 11PM-7AM, 2 days 3PM-11PM, and 1 day 7AM-3PM, with 2 days off. Attire is casual; candidates must wear jeans, long sleeves, and supply their own steel-toed boots, eye protection, ear protection, and gloves. Dust masks and shields are optional, with PAPRS masks provided if needed based on department.
