Meta Global Data Center Asset Quality Management Lead in Des Moines, Iowa

Summary:

Our Data Centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative services. Meta is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Asset Quality Management Mechanical Lead to join our Global Asset Quality Management team within Facility Operations. This role leads a team of Quality Engineers and performs technical work to support site quality responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in Quality Management systems and is able to lead continuous improvement and problem-solving activities, preferably with experience in the operation of Critical Facilities. They will also be able to provide technical solutions and guidance to the team, drive global standardization initiatives, and function in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Required Skills:

Global Data Center Asset Quality Management Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Builds, develops and manages a team of quality engineers who are responsible for the quality management process and systems support for a designated equipment category supplier base.

  2. Works with appropriate technical teams to support quality and reliability of data center equipment to significantly influence design, manufacturing, and process improvements.

  3. Works with Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Construction teams, and Suppliers to evaluate the failure data and other information and continuously improves quality of equipment.

  4. Leads cross functional teams with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve successful solutions using problem-solving and project management tools, with proven interpersonal and organizational experience.

  5. Follows best known methods for Quality Management System (QMS) and problem-solving processes.

  6. Participates and supports in supplier onboarding process and equipment allocation.

  7. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.

  8. Develops and implements quality process playbooks, executive presentations and program metrics.

  9. Applies risk management principles when implementing corrective and preventative actions.

  10. Work with asset onboarding team to define minimum data requirements for new assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline

  2. 5+ years management experience leading a team demonstrating leadership and performance management skills

  3. 10+ years of experience addressing equipment issues in mission critical operations or manufacturing environment using quality management tools to identify and solve problems

  4. Experience in statistically analyzing data to identify quality trends, confirm effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions, confirm equipment reliability, and create metrics that drive customer value

  5. Experience in reviewing and applying lessons learned to prevent occurrence in future equipment

  6. Experience in identifying gaps in a Quality Management System and experience creating and implementing department processes, procedures, and standards

  7. Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs

  1. Experience with standard Data Center equipment such as critical cooling systems, chillers, pumps, fans, emergency diesel generators, water treatment systems, etc.

  2. Proficient in Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology

  3. ASQ certification in CMQ/OE, CQE, Six Sigma Belt
