Aston Carter Healthcare Receptionist in DES MOINES, Iowa

Top client and hospital in Des Moines looking to bring on multiple medical receptionists to their team! This is a true contract to hire with the ability to go permanent within 3-4 months. This is a great way to get your foot in the door to this client/hospital and be able to move up quickly!

Description:

  • Greeting customers with excellent customer service skills

  • Completes full patient registration and discharge at date of service

  • Serve as point of contact for collecting patient co-payments

  • Serve as point of contact for insurance verification and insurance benefit eligibility

  • Thoroughly explains and secures hospital & patient legal forms

  • Scan Protected Health Information

  • Create and file patient information packets/folders for upcoming Hospital services.

  • May also assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures (enters data in scheduling system, provide customer with appointment instructions, other tasks as needed).

  • Educates patients about patient financial liabilities, employs proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during & after date of service

Work environment:

  • These positions are based in the Emergency Department (ED). This is not an office setting.

  • There are 2 Patient Access Reps working in the ED at any time. The first person is checking in patients and the second is going from room to room following up with patients after they have been seen by the physician.

  • They could be on their feet the entire shift and it can be physically demanding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Wants 1-2 years experience in Healthcare (preferred Not mandatory)

  • Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of PC/CRT/printer

  • Knowledge of function and relationships within a hospital environment preferred
