NAPA Des Moines in Iowa is seeking a Full-Time HR Intern. This person will support Human Resources initiatives related to employees’ onboarding, recognition, and general HR administration. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Human Resources and to develop a clear understanding of the HR role in the organization. To be a successful HR Intern, you will need to be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and be able to adjust to priority changes with tight deadlines. Our 11-week summer internship program will be in-person.
Work Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week during our standard operating hours (Monday – Friday)
What you’ll be doing:
Partner with HR Manager on sourcing, candidate targeting, and recruiting potential employees to include screening of resumes, scheduling and confirming interviews with candidates and hiring managers
Assist with on-boarding functions, including sending new hire documents, creating onboarding folders, requesting access key fobs, opening IT tickets, and setting up New Hire Orientation
Interpret and support the application of all HR policies
Scan, organize, email and maintain electronic and paper personnel files
Help in coordinating employee appreciation and engagement events
Assist with multiple ad hoc projects
Perform various administrative tasks and support our HR department's daily activities
What you’ll need:
Working towards a bachelor’s degree in an HR related field with a passion for HR
MS Office application skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Must be extremely dependable and prompt
Analytical skills
Well-organized, can multi-task with ease, adapt to fast-paced workspace, has a customer services orientation
Can-do attitude, strong attention to detail, discretion, and a sense of humor
People-person with an energetic and upbeat personality
Ability to maintain confidentiality
