Principal Info Security Sr. Engineer (Insider Threat Product Owner) in Des Moines, Iowa

What you’ll do:

We are looking for an experienced Information Security professional to help build out our Insider Threat Program! This role requires a blend of product owner and engineering skills. This role will collaborate with key functions across the Enterprise to develop prioritized scenarios and detection models to identify high risk behavior. They will drive the identification and acquisition of data sources and recommend implementation of new controls that are aligned to those top scenarios.

Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

  • Take ownership to develop the vision, strategic roadmap, and work needed for the Insider Threat Program.

  • Responsible for helping define and execute on program objectives, operating within financial and resource constraints.

  • Create an insider threat policy or update existing policies to formalize the program.

  • Manages dependencies within the program and assists in building out the program team. Build relationships across the enterprise to advance program initiatives.

  • Creatively “own” multiple detections and controls initiatives - to include design, data acquisition, requirements development, test, deployment, and operations from start to finish that aim to reduce insider risk within the corporation as a whole

  • Coordinate with internal investigative teams to ensure events are appropriately investigated, resolved, and documented.

  • Develop Metrics for program maturation and to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop training on potential insider threat scenarios.

  • Champion the use of technology, such as user behavior analytics (UBA), in support of the program.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience and 8+ years of related work experience

  • Experience supporting Info security work and products (preference towards Insider Threat)

  • Ability to informally lead and drive large scale projects with high collaboration

  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work against aggressive timelines

  • Excellent presentation skills in order to speak to a variety of audiences, including written and oral communication

Additional preferred technical experience:

  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating engineering systems, security detections or behavioral analytics.

  • Operationalizing insider threat detections activities, especially in complex technical and business organizations.

  • Deep understanding of technical, legal and HR issues as they relate to monitoring user behavior in a corporate environment, including international corporate environments.

  • Information security and risk management processes and controls including security operations, security architecture, security assessments, security engineering, risk management, and compliance.
