Flexential Interconnection Sales Specialist in Des Moines, Iowa
The primary mission of the Interconnection Sales Specialist is to help Flexential clients and client prospects understand, adopt and use Flexential’s portfolio of Interconnection Products on the FlexAnywhere Platform. The Interconnection Sales Specialist must be proficient in consultative technical selling techniques and maintain a challenger mindset. Validated experience in owning and winning the technical customer decision for sales opportunities and usage scenarios through tailoring your message, bringing ideas to customers, engaging with them to show our technology differentiation, and guiding them in decision-making.
In this role, you will partner closely with our Sales, SA, Sales Engineer, Product, Product Marketing, CIO organization, Customer Success Management, and Partner Program teams. The successful candidate will combine a solid understanding of pre-sales, sales, sales support, and partner dynamics with the ability to map customer requirements and manage the end to end Interconnection services life-cycle. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be familiar with network & Interconnection services sales, design, end-to-end opportunity management, as well as possess skills across multiple platforms, including cloud and complex networking.
In addition, you’ll have extensive subject matter expertise in the following technologies:
Traditional Networking functions such Routing, Firewalling, Load Balancing, Switching, etc. supporting designs for Cloud to Cloud Routing, Secure Cloud Connectivity, Network Optimization
Software Defined Networking (Designing, Incorporating and Configuring Branch to Cloud and WAN Optimization)
Cloud Service Provider, SaaS, & NSP product & service offerings in order to solve interconnection requests from customers to design and deliver a true hybrid cloud solution.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
Develop and manage relationships with customers through prospecting and networking to accomplish sales objectives.
Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales quotas in Interconnection bookings each month and completing sales reports as requested.
Act as Subject Matter Expert aligned with Regional Sales Teams driving the advancement of Flexential’s Interconnection Platform (FlexAnywhere) of services and evangelize the advancement of the overall Flexential portfolio.
Provide Flexential Platform Product Technology pre-sales solutions expertise to Flexential’s sales and channel teams
Lead competitive strategy for Interconnection and Cloud Fabric services within assigned account teams.
Identify and help qualify opportunities while working with your Account Teams to build business cases for Flexential’s Platform and Interconnection services adoption and consumption.
Work with your account teams to obtain a strong understanding of each account's governance and decision processes and the customer's business & technology priorities.
Lead to clear technical and competitive blockers to accelerate the adoption of Flexential’s greater portfolio, FlexAnywhere/Interconnection sales and customer consumption.
Manage, maintain, forecast, and assist in the closure of IX (Interconnection) opportunities via Salesforce.com.
Prepare and deliver Customer presentations
Enable Flexential partner sales and technical teams on product use cases and configuration
Develops peer relationships with customers and partners
Use our core and social connection tools, and AI-driven data to extend your reach and the reach of your account team, focusing on satisfying important customer needs.
Expected to travel to various regions.
Technical Solution Design
Proactively identifies and analyzes opportunities and problems within customer context, business plans, technological statuses, and strategic direction with the specific view of applying the FlexAnywhere Platform of Interconnection & Cloud products.
Building and maintaining technical trusted advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers for the successful adoption and deployment of the FlexAnywhere Platform.
Drive the adoption of the FlexAnywhere platform by aligning customer requirements with Flexential’s product roadmaps.
Provide market sensing feedback to the Product and Marketing Teams
Provide any product/feature faults and gaps identified through the sales process to the
Product and Marketing teams
Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering) or equivalent experience
7+ Years’ of Solutions Selling in a commercial pre-sales position preferred or minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical pre-sales and/or technical sales consulting role.
Insatiable Learner. Desire to know more than the standard and stretch to know more than Flexential products required.
Technology practitioner. Committed to knowing not just what solutions can do but practices the skills required to properly implement solutions required.
Able to work cohesively with customers, members of the Flexential (or similar) sales, services, and marketing organizations and Flexential (or similar) partners required.
Excellent Communicator. Outstanding written & verbal communication, collaboration, organizational, presentation, and deep technical product demo skills required.
Validated experience engaging with senior level executives, CTOs, Enterprise Architects, IT Management, and developers.
Consultative Technical Selling and Challenger mindset. Validated experience in consultative technical selling approach, including bringing innovative ideas to customers problems and being customer focused.
Highly driven passionate person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations required.

Professional experience architecting large scale solutions on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or equivalent
A master’s degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or equivalent technical degree.
Holds active certifications from at least one Cloud Service Provider – e.g.: Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure.
Holds active Network technology certifications such as Juniper JNCIA or JNCIS-ENT and/or Cisco CCNA/ CCNP/CCDP accreditation and in Firewalls specifically Juniper SRX range, and Cisco ASA Next Generation.
