Meta International Tax Director in Des Moines, Iowa
Meta is looking for a Director of Tax to join its International Tax team. The position will be responsible for global tax planning, providing international tax support to Meta’s new products and initiatives, overseeing international tax compliance and provision and supporting tax policy advocacy. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal competency to represent Tax on cross-functional projects of varying sizes. The candidate must have the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams, and consult with internal and external partners and advisors on technical matters. It is essential that the successful candidate is driven to develop a deep understanding of technical tax concepts, and apply them to Meta’s business operations.
International Tax Director Responsibilities:
Identify and lead the execution of US international and foreign tax planning strategies to manage global tax risks and optimize efficiency with respect to international operations and structure.
Organize efforts of the international tax team related to Meta’s new products and initiatives to ensure a proactive, strategic and consistent approach to supporting new business initiatives.
Collaborate with and support global cross-functional teams in business development, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Tax.
Monitor pending or new tax legislation, draft position papers related to legislative and regulatory developments, and support tax policy initiatives.
Master’s in Accounting/Tax, J.D. (Juris Doctor), or LLM
18+ years of experience in the tax function
Experience at a multinational corporation, public accounting or law firms
Technical knowledge of US international taxation (e.g., subpart F, FTC, GILTI, FDII, BEAT)
Experience in US and international tax compliance and income tax accounting, including exposure to ASC 740
Effective communication skills
Experience with business judgment
