Principal Financial Group IT Comm & Training Consult (Hybrid) in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

We’re looking for an IT Communication & Training Consultant to join our IT Training & Development team. In this role, you’ll work across the global IT Community to plan and support training and development activities to ensure the community meets strategic goals. While part of the team, you’ll collaborate with IT leaders across the globe, uncover knowledge gaps and work to close those gaps.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Be involved in the planning of the annual Technology Conference and work with external training providers.

  • Be responsible for the coordination and delivery of training, communication and performance improvement initiatives, including planning, scheduling, budget control, installation and testing of software and communication.

  • Consult on small to highly complex issues and projects. Plan and develop internal communication and training strategies. Partner with others to determine communication and training objectives based on needs. Analyze the situation, gather data and ask probing questions to recommend effective ways to communicate/train. May execute against plan.

  • Design, write, edit and maintain technical/training documentation and communication pieces. Develop, organize and conduct training and educational programs as needed.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Must be a self-starter with solid organizational, analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to take a strategic, creative, integrated communications approach to solve complex communications issues.

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to details while consistently meeting deadlines.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical plans, strategies and designs to all levels of the company.

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and prioritize challenging demands.

  • Resiliency and negotiation/influencing skills and ability to work with ambiguity.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$60000 - $123000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
