Job Description
Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join our team in Des Moines! This individual will direct, supervise, and perform preventive maintenance, general repairs, and make adjustments to the building systems, equipment, and fixtures in a safe and efficient manner with the goal of providing a safe, productive, and comfortable working environment for building occupants.
Some things you can expect to do:
- Solicit bids and monitor performance from subcontractors for all necessary testing and inspection on buildings mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and building automation systems
- Proactively work with property manager
- Respond professionally and expeditiously to tenant and service requests
- Monitor/order and approve purchases for building supplies and materials
- Participate in on call, after hours, and weekend rotation
- Supervise three to five maintenance engineers and/or maintenance technicians
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent verbal communication skills and a helpful attitude when interacting with building occupants. Must have a a -year technical degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in the operation of commercial and industrial properties. You must have a CFC certification and any regional or local licensing required to operate a building. You will have a clear driving record, basic knowledge of computer applications, and ability to lift 50 lbs. You are also able to work from a ladder, work overhead, smell smoke and other chemicals and be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
You will really stand out if you have:
- SMA, SMT, or LEED certification
- Formal supervisory training
- Excellent working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Good computer literacy
