Position Summary

We are seeking a Manager, Process Engineering professional like you to join our amazing Des Moines, IA Manufacturing plant.

Since 1945, the Bridgestone Des Moines plant has produced agricultural, construction, forestry and off-the-road tires. With more than 70 years of history in the community, many of the 1,300 teammates in Des Moines are second- or even third-generation teammates.

As a Manager, Process Engineering professional, you will be expected to focuses on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised processes. You will manage experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. This position requires the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and the ability to communicate and influence executive leadership on a frequent basis.

Responsibilities

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

· Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.

· Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports.

· Manages team to apply process engineering principles to deliver customer technical/functional specifications, budget adherence, automation/continuous improvement of processes, and cost/efficiency requirements.

· Creates and manages institutional knowledge.

· Designs arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

· Designs the sequence of operations, specifies procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapts machinery in response to conditions.

· Conducts tests throughout all stages to determine control over applicable variables and prevents/solves problems.

· Ensures that processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements:

· Bachelor degree; 6 plus years of relevant experience.

· Or Master’s degree; 4 plus years of relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience.
