Overview

MercyOne Central Iowa operates four not-for-profit, Catholic medical centers in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Newton and Centerville and two specialty hospitals –MercyOne Children’s Hospital in Des Moines and MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital in Clive (965 beds total) – along with more than 20 additional facilities that house morethan 50 primary care, pediatric, internal medicine and specialty clinics. Responsibilities

  • Schedule and supervise all employees in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure that policies are understood and followed by staff.

  • Assist the Director with the responsibilityfor personnel issues (i.e., interviewing, motivation, coaching, and disciplinary action and performanceappraisals).

  • Serve as a resource to colleagues and staff for complex and/or escalated account questions and/orconcerns.

  • Establish individual and team specific productivity standards. Monitor and report productivity byposting results, as appropriate.

  • Promote working as a team to achieve strategic and financial goals and the objectives of thedepartment by recognizing problems and addressing them in a timely manner, engaging in honest andprofessional conversation with colleagues and staff.Help coordinate solutions intra- andinterdepartmentally.

  • Collaborate and act as a liaison with the physician groups in order to identify ongoing revenue cycleissues and actively participate in revenue cycle-related process improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrate an ability and willingness to provide effective instruction to all levels of personnel andcollaborate with others, as needed, in coordinating and conducting educational programs.

  • Collects and summarizes statistics pertinent to the assigned areas of responsibility to monitor teamperformance, identify areas requiring improved efficiency or workflow effectiveness and provide tomanagement for informational purposes, as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3years leadership experience OR minimum of 5 years leadershipexperience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree and no experience

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific topopulation served within three (3) months of hire.
