Principal Meeting/Conference Experience Manager (Remote/Hybrid Opportunity) in Des Moines, Iowa

As a Meeting/Conference Experience Manager on the Experience Planning team, you’ll be responsible for the planning and execution of large meetings, conference, and/or events for a variety of internal and external stakeholders. We’re looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, who is experienced in the financial services industry, to strategically partner with stakeholders to provide cost effective and efficient solutions that align with business units needs and overall corporate brand strategy.

  • Plan and execute large conferences, meetings, and/or events on a cost-effective basis, meeting business unit, company, compliance, and regulatory needs. Responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to develop and execute annual strategies around conference, events, and meetings. Manage all logistical aspects of planning which may include: speaker selection, entertainment selection, technology management, inventory management, communications, marketing activities, on-site coordination, budget forecasting/maintenance/reconciliation and return on investment analysis. Accountable for maintaining accurate financial records and other required documentation needed for compliance and regulatory purposes, post conference success metrics, stakeholder feedback and delivery of overall conference evaluation results.

  • Research, manage and execute request for proposals which may include: venue selections, vendor selections, activity selection, food and beverage selection, entertainment selection, rentals, activity selection, transportation coordination, track and manage RSVPs, deposits and final billing, etc.

  • Responsible for managing internal and external relationships pertaining to execution of conferences, meetings, and/or events including: company business leaders, meeting/conference/event participants, speakers, transportation and catering companies, donors, etc.

  • Perform other duties and functions as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required (conference, meeting, event planning)

  • Financial service industry experience preferred

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills required

  • Must have strong analytical, negotiation, and collaborations skills

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure, including responding quickly to change and challenges, and operate with sense of urgency on all projects

  • Some travel, including overnight stays required (up to 20%)

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

$58700 - $114000 / year

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
