The ISC for the Professional and Education (P&E) Unit within Wolters Kluwer Health is a challenging and fulfilling role. A successful ISC is driven to continuously develop and assist Higher Education Institutions to better understand and implement new and more effective learning models within Nursing Education. The ISC at Wolters Kluwer-HLRP plays a pivotal role as product trainer; revenue retention specialist, as well as providing sales support and customers success with digital products.

The ICS work within an assigned region for an organization that strives to build effective performance conditions. They also have a Sales Manager who is, first and foremost, a coach to help guide and support career growth as well as sharing best practices in sales and leadership. ISCs play a pivotal role in moving Wolters Kluwer Health to the forefront of nursing education, particularly in the digital solution space with uncapped earning potential along the way!

Location: This position is home-based, and candidate should reside in either Washington or Oregon State.


The ISC will work with the Regional Sales Specialist teams as well as other internal groups in supporting customers using WK digital products, easing the customer's transition from a historically print-based model to a modern fully digital learning model. The ISC will be a digital product expert, offering assistance to both customers and regional sales teams to master the best practices aligned with WK's products. This position is cross-functional position. The ISC will also work with other units in the Health Learning Research and Practice division such as Product Development, Marketing as well as Sales Enablement to create and deliver sales tools. The ISC is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding an annual sales quota as well as any product or account specific goal that may be assigned. The compensation potential is uncapped.

Location: This position is remotely based anywhere in the continental U.S.


Sales and Implementation

In conjunction with the Regional Director, you will identify customers that need additional support and training on current digital products and thereby schedule on-site training and education to enable them to align with the product implementation best practices.

Work with each rep during campus visits on solution selling skills- as well as best uses of sales tools delivered by the Sales Enablement team.

Be the product expert for the region and update Regional Sales Specialists on product attributes, updates and new features throughout the year.

Work directly with customers to achieve a 90% retention of product usage.

Support the Regional Sales Specialist for continuous improvement on product knowledge, nursing education curriculums as well as presentation skills.

Regional Sales Activity

Work directly with customers to successfully implement digital products

Drive regional sales strategies across the region and on all work trips

Work in conjunction with the Regional Sales Specialist as well as independently to increase revenue for the region.

Communicate weekly or bi-weekly with the Regional Director.

Carry out any additional needed activities as assigned by the Regional Director.

Continually stay on top of trends and market shifts in the higher education market, P&E products, competitors, and sales approaches and communicate these to the Regional Director and other appropriate teams within WK.

Effectively communicate with all levels of customers within an institution including: Deans/Directors, Course Coordinators, Simulation Lab Coordinators, instructors and teaching assistants.

Manage all enterprise partnerships in higher education.

Conduct powerful presentations in-person and virtually; tailoring presentations to position the product based on the specific customer's needs.

Represent Wolters Kluwer in the industry by demonstrating our company values in all interactions: customer focus, innovation, accountability, integrity, value creation, and teamwork

Be on campus 4 days a week or as directed by Regional Manager.

Work with prospective customers in a consultative fashion to develop a future vision for their curriculum, positioning the WK HLRP full-curriculum solution as an instrumental part of that vision

Regularly updating the CRM with all needed information and activity.


Knowledge of Microsoft Office products in order to review data and develop strategic plans

Create regional business plans

Create sales presentations

Develop and execute regional and territories strategies to increase revenue.

Other Duties

Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Director.


A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.


A minimum of 3 years of on-quota performance Documented track record of success

Experience in the higher education market specifically with digital products

Experience selling full curriculum solutions

Demonstrated success training nursing instructors on complex digital solutions.

Sales experience highly preferable with a history of consistent over-quota achievement in a highly competitive market

Ability to negotiate with individual buyers (e.g., faculty, line managers) as well as institutional decision makers (e.g., deans, directors, and c-suite executives)

Conducts executive-level discussions

Effectively train others on digital solutions

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

Excellent consultative selling and training skills with a proven track record of success

Excellent presentation skills both in person as well as via online meeting tools.

Strong critical thinking skills

Ability to translate the needs and pain points of the customer into an effective solution

Relentless work ethic along with a desire to continually learn new skills, develop additional expertise, and shape the future of Wolters Kluwer's full-curriculum solutions in Nursing Education.

Ability to work independently in a home office environment as well as part of a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills

Strong problem-solving skills.


Travel is required up to 70% of the selling season

Must be able to travel independently by air and by car.

Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Must have the ability to obtain a passport.

Overnight travel is required to visit customers and attend regional and national sales meetings.


Must be able to work independently from a dedicated home office.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
