Our Independence Consulting team consists of five sub teams focused on the applicability of external regulations and PwC independence policy related to: 1) the permissibility of non-audit services to restricted entities; 2) matters related to personal independence; 3) affiliate determinations, partner rotations and other such matters related to assurance clients; 4) Joint Business Relationship rules/policies; and, 5) violations/breaches of any of these regulations and policies by PwC staff and partners.

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following:

  • Understanding of independence rules, including professional independence rules, regulatory requirements, and independence policies, as it relates to PwC as a public accounting firm;

  • Understanding of technology;

  • Utilizing advanced analytical skills including, the ability to compare specific fact patterns to regulatory, professional, and policy requirements and to recognize differences and similarities, and draw analogies;

  • Leveraging project management, problem resolution, presentation and communication skills; communicating with impact and empathy and probe for information as needed;

  • Preparing and presenting written/oral communications and presentations as requested;

  • Utilizing organizational and interpersonal skills, and having the ability to manage multiple priorities and developing collaborative working relationships with all levels of leadership and staff;

  • Coordinating consultations with relevant stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to escalate issues as appropriate; and,
