Osmose is currently seeking a OSP Technician to visit sites in the field to review single poles or lines of poles for new communication attachments. Poles needing make ready, replacement or other modifications will need to be documented and entered into the power company’s data base to set up the necessary work orders. The work week will be split between field and office time, and will require regular interaction with other employees at the power company.
Starting pay at $20/hour plus a $5/hour conditional bonus. There is also opportunity for OT.
Collect data at a high level of accuracy utilizing a variety of electronic equipment.
Perform detailed review of current pole attachments and recommend make ready needs to ensure proposed attachments have a NESC compliant design to attach.
Submit all required administrative paperwork and data in SAP and other desktop programs and electronically submit a payroll at the end of each week.
Maintain positive relations with Osmose coworkers and customer contacts and the public. Work professionally in the field as a representative of Osmose and its customers.
Interface and communicate effectively as needed with Operations, Engineering and Project Management teams.
Previous Make Ready experience working with new fiber and broadband attachments, clearance calculations and pole construction
Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements (preferred)
Basic proficiency with computers included Microsoft Office and other data based platforms
Ability to follow processes, specifications and guidelines in a quality focused environment
Ability to read, interpret and follow maps
Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. A MVR check will be required, as well as certain insurance levels on the vehicle
Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
Present a professional appearance and attitude
Demonstrated high work standards with a quality orientation
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or background preferred
