Plumb Supply Company is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist in our corporate office located in Des Moines, IA. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday. Plumb Supply Company offers competitive compensation, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, and paid time off.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for 430+ employees using isolved's HRIS software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, providing timely and accurate information and assistance.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and maintain employee change forms, employee files, disciplinary data, etc. in an accurate, compliant, and confidential manner.
  • Assist with year-end reporting and audits, including W-2 processing, ACA preparation, 401(k), EEO-1, OSHA reporting and other compliance requirements.
  • Handle all aspects of benefits administration, including open enrollment, changes, and terminations for health, dental, vision, voluntary insurance benefits, and 401(k) plans.
  • Review insurance billing statements for accuracy; correspond with providers as needed
  • Ensure compliance of all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide back-up support for Human Resources

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of benefits programs including health insurance, long-term disability programs, workers' compensation insurance, unemployment regulations, life insurance, 401k and Defined Benefit plans, COBRA, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and multitask in an environment with deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with Managers and coworkers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelors or associates degree or equivalent or applicable work experience.
