Responsibilities
Guidehouse is seeking a Product Designer to create and execute design concepts for our clients. The Product Designer collaborates with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to identify product needs and produce the necessary plans and artifacts. Within a Scaled Agile Framework, the Product Designer works closely with the Product Lead and UX/UI Designer to plan objectives and produce high fidelity, interactive prototypes for development within program sprints.
The Product Designer facilitates UX workshops in support of program increment planning via discovery (i.e. personas and journeys), prioritization, ideation (i.e. process flows, service blueprints), and design. They facilitate working sessions with the Product Lead to support epic refinement, cost-of-delay, prioritization, and story grooming. The Product Designer applies human-centered design leading practices and design thinking to facilitate usability and advocate for user needs. The Product Designer plans and manages user testing sessions to evaluate design approaches and elicit feedback. They synthesize research into concise findings and make recommendations to the Product Owner.
The Product Designer must be able to deliver innovative and customized solutions that leverage strategic and analytical thinking. They must have a strong background in the principles of design and a familiarity with emerging trends in design, technology, animation, and user experience. They must demonstrate advanced knowledge of inspired, modern design, with solid ideation and conceptual abilities. As a Product Designer at Guidehouse, you will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to produce innovative, thoughtful, and meaningful products for our clients.
Qualifications
Required:
Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, problem definition, ideation, persona development, journey mapping, process flowcharts, service blueprints, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
Ability to understand complex qualitative and quantitative research data, business goals and requirements and translate them into functional designs
Ability to conceptualize, execute and refine specifications and design standards in the form of interaction models, process flows, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes
Ability to apply human-centered design principles to create digital experiences
Proven experience iterating quickly and communicating ideas across different levels of fidelity
Proven experience designing for accessibility and 508 compliance
Ability to build customized solutions, as well as work with well-established design systems
Experience working with cross-functional teams to help inform design decisions
Experience leading participatory design activities (e.g. client workshops, card sorting) to understand vision, business model and knowledge about user needs and behaviors
Experience mentoring and providing feedback to other designers, with a focus on delivering high quality solutions for clients
Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Extensive experience using Figma, Sketch and Invision
Knowledge of online collaboration tools such as Mural
Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile Scrum methodologies preferred
Minimum 5+ years of professional design experience (agency experience is a plus)
Self-motivated and eager to learn
Will work on federal government and commercial projects
Must provide an online portfolio of work for review
US Citizenship is contractually required for this role
Minimum Years of Experience: 5+ (agency experience is a plus)
Minimum Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
Travel: 0-50%
Additional Requirements

This position is open to candidates virtually from Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona or Eastern, Pacific, Central, and Aleutian time zones.
