As a Product Manager in Principal Global Investors (PGI), you’ll use your strategic expertise to lead our Product community and drive consistency in philosophy and practice. You’ll assist our team dedicated to elevating engineering practices across PGI.

Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:
Build an effective product team to ensure efficient and successful delivery for technology teams.
Build strong partnerships with technology community so you can represent their needs. Garner their support and engage them proactively to overcome barriers to stay product-centric.
Manage the feature backlog and develop acceptance criteria to establish when a feature meets the definition of Done.
Responsible for prioritizing, using criteria defined by PGI technology. Involve the team in how to break down and order the work.
Be comfortable not having all of the answers. Make small bets and embrace experimentation.
Empower technology teams to own solutions being crafted versus telling them what needs to be done and how it should work.
Challenge status quo, encourage innovation, be forward-thinking and approachable. Influence, lead and collaborate well with all partners.
Know how your product fits into the bigger picture and help the product team understand how the work they do contributes to that vision.
Fall in love with the problem to be solved. Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers by using discovery techniques that identify solutions based on value, viability, feasibility and usability.
Identify and prioritize product features that solve our biggest problems and make the biggest impact to our business. Leverage feedback and data to inform product roadmap.
We’re looking for someone with:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, plus at least 8 years business or product management experience
Formal leadership experience
Superb communication skills, including the ability to build relationships and influence business partners
Past experience partnering with technology teams and supporting technology products through an agile environment
Experience developing and maturing a product, and creating a product strategy
Asset Management experience
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
This position may require on-call responsibilities.
