We are looking for a Project Manager to be a part of our talented, inclusive, and supportive Advanced Generation project team including engineering, procurement, and construction professionals. Our Energy & Process business is driven to meet clients’ rapidly changing infrastructure needs in generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of safe, reliable electric power. The Project Manager manages all aspects of multiple EPC projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality. You would also be responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. Job duties also include coordinating and integrating the activities associated with the design, permitting, material management and construction installation of the project team including the activities of all third-party companies contributing to the initiative.

Please note: This role has between 30%-50% travel to project sites. When not travelling, this role will be hybrid: 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in-office out of whichever Black and Veatch office is closest to you. However, being near our headquarters in Overland Park, KS is a plus!

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively promotes the safety culture.

  • Oversees planning, developing, issuing, and progress tracking of all EPC projects and their associated work orders (WO).

  • Participate in all integrated planning sessions associated with WOs.

  • Works with Discipline Engineers and Construction Managers to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality. Manages escalated problems or issues.

  • Supports commercial recovery process and close-out.

Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with advanced generation EPC projects

  • EPC Project Management experience

  • Ideally experience with simple cycle, combined cycle, and plant expansion EPC project management from design through construction

  • Bachelor's in Engineering

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
