Continuus Materials of Iowa Quality Technician in Des Moines, Iowa
We are a young and progressive company who is having a positive impact on the world by transforming waste into sustainable building materials and are currently in need of adding additional talent to help us reach our goals. As a Quality Technician, you will report to the Quality Control Engineer/ Supervisor and have responsibility for testing product, documenting quality statistics, and training team members on quality and production design goals in addition to being a part of an engineering team to improve plant functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform finished good quality tests to ensure products meet or exceed company standards
- Provide daily press recommendations based off quality statistics to drive product improvements
- Perform material certifications on new products for manufacturing feasibility
- Analyze data to track trends of press performance
- Monitor quality parameters throughout the production shift, make manufacturing changes based off parameter trends
- Conduct employee training on quality and production specifications
- Daily product, process, and system audits
- Actively pursue and correct issues that negatively affect quality of the product
- Confirm and organize calibration of lab equipment
- Ability to work with a team of engineers to drive positive change on the floor
- Use statistical data to help drive projects to ensure positive outcomes
- Properly manage all Quality holds to ensure isolation and prevent accidental shipment.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
High School Diploma
Demonstrated intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
Demonstrated ability to act independently upon information and make decisions that achieve optimal results.
Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
