The Safety and Training Coordinator will work closely with site management to ensure the safety culture, programs, and documentation meets the company standards. The Coordinator will work closely with the site operation managers and supervisors to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are documented, accurate, and meet the company minimum standards. They will also guarantee these controlled documents are loaded into the company's database and appropriately assigned to the local staff for further training. The Coordinator will also ensure the seasonal contract workers are trained on the SOP documents as needed and track such training. The Coordinator will work closely with site leadership to forecast seasonal contract labor needs and will communicate with necessary contract agencies to ensure the needed staff is on site and trained as the production workload requires the extra staff. The Coordinator will be responsible for on-boarding the new seasonal labor which includes day-one safety training and general training on the warehouse processes. They will work closely with the production supervisors to ensure safety and hands-on training has been completed for the production areas of the warehouse and they will track such training. The coordinator is expected to work closely with the seasonal contract labor and serve as their manager which includes: scheduling, time entry verification, employee training, and employee satisfaction. The Safety and Training Coordinator is also expected to spend a portion of their time working in various production areas of the warehouse, as time allows, in order to remain connected to the processes and activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Train and manage temporary/seasonal labor

  • Ensure all employee training programs are adequate and up-to-date

  • Assist in day-to-day computer related activities

  • Attend regional safety meetings as needed

  • Lead the site's safety committee

  • Prepare, document, and train on site's standard operating procedures

  • Assist in future projects and perform other duties as requested

  • Ensure that facility safety policies are communicated, followed, and enforced

  • Ensure that facility security policies are communicated, followed, and enforced

Qualifications

Requirements:

The following are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, or a related field

  • Strong verbal and written skills

  • Exceptional training abilities and be able to tailor the training to the individual

  • Be a coachable employee and have the ability to take constructive feedback

  • Willingness to work irregular and overtime hours as needed

  • Exceptional teamwork and leadership skills

  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access

  • Show a willingness to learn new skills and understand new processes

The following are preferred:

  • Familiarity with production agriculture or seed production a plus

  • Understanding of supply chain logistics with the ability to alter processes to gain efficiencies
