Are you the type of person who is a self-starter and likes to work independently? In this role you will be responsible for laying out, fitting-up and loading steel components into a fixture, tacking and welding steel components. We're looking for someone who can assemble weldments according to blueprints and specifications both manually and with a robot.

What You'll Do

  1. Position, align and fit components together utilizing fixturing. Bolt, clamp, tack and load weld parts to secure in position for welding robot according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications.

  2. Manually finish weld parts coming off robot to final product.

  3. Inspect final welds to ensure parts meet Vermeer's weld quality standards.

  4. Complete weldments in various welding positions according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications using GMAW-P by following Vermeer Welding Standards.

  5. Perform regular and routine maintenance on weld equipment.

  6. Set and operate an Oxy Fuel Cutting torch for preheating safely and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

  • Successful completion of Vermeer Welder Training Program.

  • Calculate figures and apply concepts of fractions, percentages and ratios.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team leaders and managers.

  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.

  • Ability to effectively problem solve and troubleshoot machine and weld quality issues.

  • Reading and understanding measuring devices such as tape measure and weld fillet gauges.
