Responsibilities
We are seeking an individual to join our South Market Energy Providers team as a Senior Consultant to support the growth of our sustainability and decarbonization platform.
Your work will focus on supporting utility clients operating in the South, Mid-Atlantic, and Central region of the US as they navigate the complex ESG and decarbonization landscape.
Developing/expanding long-term client relationships in the South, Mid-Atlantic, and Central region that will lead to repeat business with a particular focus on ESG and decarbonization solutions, through:
Working in concert with Account Leaders, Solutions team, and other team members to sell and deliver solutions and strategies
Supporting the development of client sales opportunities, focused especially on integrated energy companies but not limited to this
Building trusted advisor relationships with key Utility client stakeholders
Collaborating cross-practice to build compelling new solution offerings that resonate with target client
Delivering successful consulting engagements by:
Project managing complex consulting engagements
Completing engagements at or above targeted profitability through effective management of project scope, client expectations, and team productivity
Generating new and unique ideas and using solid judgment to determine which ideas will have the greatest likelihood of success
Being an effective part of the local team while engaging with colleagues across Guidehouseās ES&I segment
Playing a key role in the execution of innovative solutions and application of technical knowledge and best practices
Our team members manage their own tasks, schedules, internal / external networks, and project teams carrying out business and technical analyses to deliver high quality client work. Our consultants must demonstrate considerable business acumen and focus on maximizing client value.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a focus on economics, business, technology, engineering, mathematics, or science
5+ years of professional experience with utilities or utility consulting organizations (excluding internships, co-ops, and fellowships), professional services, strategy, or management consulting, or with an integrated energy company (oil and gas major) or other large energy players
Demonstrated experience positioning and delivering consulting and/or business solutions
Strong personal network and client relationship skills
Business case or proposal writing experience including budget development and managing proposal timeline with multiple subject matter experts providing input
Knowledge and experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, decarbonization strategy and implementation, and market research planning and reporting and related topics
Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative in problem solving
Ability to extract insights and meaning from qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic advice for clients
A team player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels
Experience with managing complex projects and delivering high-quality outputs
Ability to travel as needed
Preferred:
7+ years of professional experience with utilities or utility consulting organizations (excluding internships, co-ops, and fellowships), professional services, strategy, or management consulting, or with an integrated energy company (oil and gas major) or other large energy players
Program/Project and Change management experience (PMP certification)
Process improvement experience (Lean Six Sigma certification)
Technology/Systems implementation (Agile methodology)

The salary range for this role is $63,600 USD to $95,400 USD depending on directly relevant work experience
