OVERVIEW

PCG is currently seeking a Senior Consultant to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a team of subject matter experts, project managers, and operations staff within the Education Consulting (EC) service line. This position provides motivated individuals an opportunity to manage project-based educational initiatives, locally as well as nationally; to develop a team of direct reports; and to grow our organization’s portfolio of clients and capacities.

The position is remote, with occasional in-person work required.

Organizational Context

PCG’s Education Consulting service line works with states, districts, and school clients to provide a wide spectrum of services, such as curriculum development, instructional resources audits, design and facilitation of professional development and professional learning communities, literacy support and implementation services, school improvement, and program reviews.

Past project engagements, for example, have included the development of the EngageNY grades 6–12 English Language Arts Common-Core aligned curriculum for the New York State Education Department, design and delivery of a system of professional learning for the Connecticut State Department of Education and Colorado Department of Education, and the creation of curriculum aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T standards.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

Provide client and project management for state and large district-level engagements:

o Independently manage complex projects, staff, and tasks, while meeting and exceeding performance expectations.

o Lead the planning and implementation of projects, from requirements-gathering to end-of-project assessments.

o Develop and manage project budgets to achieve financial targets, including client and vendor invoicing, financial reporting, and the presentation of financial reports to leadership.

o Support the contracting process, including preparing client contracts and amendments as needed, in collaboration with internal and client teams.

o Establish and implement communication protocols and processes in collaboration with the client and PCG project teams, including the use of project collaboration spaces (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Google Drive).

o Develop and implement risk management process to monitor and mitigate project risks and bring issues to resolution.

o Implement and manage project change controls and interventions to achieve project goals.

o Lead data collection efforts including the acquisition of student data, survey data, and other data relevant to projects.

o Develop and present clear, succinct written and verbal reports on project status to the client and management teams.

Supervise, support, and develop high-functioning teams, including direct reports:

o Contribute to recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and onboarding of staff, including subcontractors.

o Provide coaching and capacity-building to staff.

o Offer feedback to staff, as well as support self-reflection and sharing of best practices.

o Provide avenues for team members to learn and grow.

o Solicit staff feedback and ideas for project and process improvement.

o Escalate performance issues as needed.

o Recommend staff for recognition.

Contribute to the organization by leading proposal and business development efforts:

o Manage the proposal development process, including the development schedule, staff assignments, documentation requirements, pricing strategy, production, and timely delivery.

o Craft proposal and business development content, including solution conceptualization, pricing, and components of RFP responses.

o Participate in business development efforts, including contributing to conferences, marketing campaigns, presentations, and meetings with prospective clients

o Identify new sales opportunities and growth strategies; engage in follow up and implementation as needed.

o Capture and share knowledge accrued and lessons learned throughout the lifecycle of projects.

o Engage in continuous improvement processes focused on internal processes, operations, and client services; identify areas for improvement and possible solutions.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

· Expertise in structured literacy and the science of reading and learning

· Experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams

· Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various levels of management and with clients

· Ability to manage multiple simultaneous and competing priorities

· Attention to detail and commitment to quality

· Ability to follow, critically evaluate, and improve upon current processes

· Excellent organizational, verbal presentation, and written communication skills

· Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, including complex formulas, linking worksheets, lookups, pivot tables, macros, and charts

· Supervisory experience

· Ability to identify risks and develop solutions

· Experience in education, consulting, or business operations required

· Bachelor's degree required

· Availability during regular work week and to meet project-specific availability requirements Ability to travel to client sites
