Title: Senior Electrical Systems Engineer - 92526

Onsite/Remote: Partial Remote Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Systems Enginee r for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will lead electrical component and systems development for the Backhoe Loader, Tractor Loader, and Small Excavator product lines. This includes but is not limited to software requirements development, controller architecture, CAN Network definitions, and new technology integration. In addition, you will act as liaison between the product lines and software development and verification teams for current and future programs.

This responsibility includes:

  • Implementing new software and electrical systems on current and future programs

  • Working w/ engine applications engineers to define and adopt engine application requirements

  • Defining data for telematics system with JDLink data leads

  • Leading functional safety analysis for ISO standards

  • Supporting Software Agile development, sprint planning and software test planning

What Skills You Need

  • 5 or more years of electronics/electrical systems development

  • 3 or more years of experience in developing or testing software or developing requirement documents

  • Experience working with system requirements, electronic hardware, circuit design and analysis

  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to break complex tasks down into executable action items

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Technical skills and knowledge in CAN communications protocols such as the SAE J1939

  • Systems Engineering education, training or demonstrated capability

  • Experience with Agile software development practices

  • Demonstrated capability performing in an engineering team environment and interfacing with engineers and personnel of other disciplines, including leading development projects, architecture development and mentoring team members.

  • Experience with designing according to ISO 19014 and/or ISO 26262

  • New product development experience with agricultural, earthmoving, roadbuilding, or forestry vehicle engineering

  • Experience developing and testing embedded system software

  • Experience with Vspy, CPS Test Tool, Service Advisor, Visio, yED and Matlab/Simulink


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software engineering, Physics, or other related discipline with experience.
