What you’ll be doing…

We are looking for an experienced and strategic industry marketer to drive the marketing strategy for our Insurance Industry within the Financial Services sector, including the creation of targeted industry messaging, positioning, content, sales plays, and enablement.

The Senior Industry Marketing Manager is a critical role on our Audience & Industry strategy team, and a significant contributor to Tableau’s industry growth efforts. As an expert in – and advocate for – the Insurance industry, this individual will be responsible for setting the global marketing vision and strategy that uniquely positions Tableau to solve the challenges facing insurance institutions around the world.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Assess market landscape, trends and opportunities, and identify priorities within the industry to set the strategic focus to further develop the insurance industry within the Financial Services sector

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Tableau platform, and leverage your insurance expertise to identify customer needs, primary drivers, and top industry use cases.

  • Develop detailed personas for this segment, capturing behaviors and sentiments.

  • Manage the overall messaging and positioning for our insurance customers through marketing and sales enablement content

  • Align business strategy to marketing strategy through partnerships across sales leadership, industry field marketing, solution engineering, sales readiness, customer success, Salesforce industry marketing, and more

  • Build a library of sales plays and programs to activate Tableau and Salesforce sales teams based on prioritized insurance use cases

  • Support the Tableau Sales team with demos, playbooks, presentations and audience knowledge.

  • Drive integrated narrative and marketing motions with the Salesforce Financial Services insurance team; Partner with Solutions Engineering, Sales Readiness and Salesforce industry marketing to drive tightly orchestrated Sales Plays.

  • Work with our customer evidence team to identify champions and capture customer stories that demonstrate the value of Tableau.

  • Act as an industry subject matter expert, regularly monitor industry trends and developments (e.g. new policies, technology trends), and engage in related associations and forums.

  • Provide market insights and guidance that inform our demand generation, customer journeys, and thought leadership efforts; serve as a primary content and subject matter expert.

  • Work with our partners to help develop and bring insurance partner solutions to market.

  • Be a strong voice representing our Insurance customers across all conversations and projects; opportunities to present to audiences at live meetings, webinars, and a variety of events and tradeshows.

Who you are…

Domain Expert. You are an insurance industry marketer with a solid understanding of underwriting and claims management, policyholder experience, agent /broker, automation, digitization, and trends changing the industry landscape. Strong audience marketing skills: experience creating personas and messaging for various audience segments.

Experienced & Strategic. 10+ years in an industry marketing, product marketing or product management role, or equivalent experience. Experience working with or within the Insurance industry is strongly desirable.

Master Connector - You build relationships with ease, work well with others, and get energy in driving collaboration and partnerships. You believe that 1+1=3 and that shared outcomes are better when you work together rather than alone.

Customer obsessed. You have a deep understanding and focus on the customer, their pain points, and the context in which they work.

Data-Driven. Curiosity for data and our customers. Understanding of basic analytical and statistical techniques. Ability to perform primary and secondary research. Tableau product knowledge is strongly desired.

Energy and Enthusiasm. Passion for a fast-growing, fast-changing environment. Strong entrepreneurial drive.

Strong Communication and Presentation Skills. The ability to create solution demos that communicate the “why” of a feature or product of assignment. Excellent writing ability, including the ability to communicate technical concepts. Strong storytelling and presentation skills. The ability to write clear and compelling copy for the website, the press and other outlet
