What You Will Do :
Facilitate the planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordination of work to be accomplished by the project team, including breaking work down into discrete tasks, estimating task resource requirements, working with task owners to determine task schedule and dependencies, and incorporating this information into a project schedule.
Support project management and oversight, including:
Implementing program and project management practices, processes, and procedures.
Assisting with project governance, including assessing scope, allocating resources, and verifying time, budget, risk/issue and impact assumptions before projects are undertaken and throughout project execution.
Reporting on project activities, risks, issues, scope, and progress to executive management, and keeping project teams and decision makers moving toward consistent, business and/or mission focused goals and objectives.
Define and sequence projects that incrementally deliver program capabilities while managing overall implementation risk.
Provide support for the coordination, preparation, and reporting of project statuses on a routine basis.
Develop and implement summary project report structures and project success metrics.
Prepare for and lead/participate in project gate reviews and project governance processes.
Provide advice to business unit project managers on the use of recommended project management processes, tools, and methodologies (Agile and Waterfall).
Leverage Agile methodology expertise in providing project management support across matrixed, dispersed project teams.
Provide consultation in the implementation of best practices for troubled projects/programs with respect to root cause and corrective actions, risk planning and prevention mechanisms.
Facilitate and document “Lessons Learned” sessions for projects.
Mentor and train project teams on PMO best practices and assist in implementing PMO process changes prior to and during project execution.
Participate in bi-weekly PMO Project Management Community of Practice.
Discuss project management standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate to incorporate lessons learned into projects as applicable
Engage in other training opportunities as applicable.
Participate in project Resourcing and Tailoring meetings for assigned projects.
Create Gate Review artifacts for assigned projects.
Creation of Architecture Review Board (ARB) materials for assigned projects
Complete weekly status reports for each project using the PMO’s designated tool and/or format.
What You Will Need :
Minimum Years of Experience: 8+ years of experience working on projects in a large organization in both the public and private sectors, delivering project management support
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree
Must be able to support requirements gathering sessions with clients, analyze and document system requirements, assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation and track issues/risks
Experience providing project management support to a software development program
Experience interacting and working with operational groups across the organization
Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
US Citizenship is required
Candidates are to be located in EST time zone.
What Would Be Nice To Have :
Experience relevant to work with government financial regulators
Certification(s) Preferred: Industry standard project management certification(s) (PMP, CSM)
Candidates in the Washington, DC METRO preferred
The annual salary range for this position is $77,500.00-$155,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
