Principal Financial Group Senior Sales Director OCIO Investment Solutions (Remote Available) in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Senior Director OCIO Investment Solutions to join our Principal Asset Management Investment Solutions sales team. In this role, you’ll be a part of a team in positioning, selling, and retaining discretionary asset management services to defined benefit plan sponsors and other types of institutions with asset pools!

  • Development, representation, and growth of strategies for internal and external clients, including associated investment consultants, across institutional and retirement markets

  • Drive commercial success of OCIO offering customized investment solutions including OCIO, LDI (liability driven investing), and relationship management services in collaboration with distribution, product, and marketing partners across Principal

  • Educate, train, and assist as we market current and new solutions to / through distribution as well as Principal Asset Management market related stakeholders to include road show participation, marketing collateral, investment thought capital etc.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Ten plus years' institutional investment experience

  • OCIO sales experience, pension/DB market knowledge, LDI Asset management understanding and/or pension actuarial experience

  • Thorough understanding of DB (Defined Benefit) plans, institutional investment management, and ERISA

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services market and products and knowledge of regulatory issues facing clients/prospective clients

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • CFA Charter holder

  • Seasoned individual in the investment consulting space who is high-reaching, has a strong work ethic, professional disposition, creative attitude, and willingness to challenge the status quo

  • Collaborative approach, who has strong problem solving, project management, presentation, and communication (verbal and written) skills and has foresight to separate real client opportunities from false positives

  • Individual must be comfortable working with ambiguity, influence partners and build strong relationships with current and prospective clients and internal teams

  • Able to efficiently and effectively research, analyze and synthesize information

  • Detail oriented and a self-starter, willing to take initiative, and drive projects forward

Minimum of 50% travel required.

This position may be subject to SEC restrictions on personal political contributions.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$174000 - $236000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

We’re open to considering remote, in-office, or hybrid talent. Locations for hybrid talent include Des Moines, Minneapolis, and New York City. These are also the preferred locations where members of the team currently reside.
