Deloitte Senior Technical Event Specialist in Des Moines, Iowa

Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities are to help your customers determine the best technology solution that will meet their desired virtual or hybrid meeting outcomes. In this role you may consult with customers on the design of meetings, video conferences and other events either independently or in conjunction with US Meeting and Event Services, US Event Enablement, or Global Programs. You will lead the planning process, coordinate with clients, schedule, ensure every visible aspect matches the tone of the event, and otherwise act as a leading point of contact for individuals involved in the event. Duties typically depend on the type of events you have designed. You will oversee all production and technical aspects of an event. Responsible for pre-production (planning calls), production (execution of event) to post-production (post event reporting/surveys). Ensure the set-up and working order of all audio-visual elements and work closely with the clients to implement their vision. Sets deadlines for content delivery and ensures deadlines are met. Utilize extensive experience and event knowledge to help develop a plan for the execution of client ideas.

Develop and recommend process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production. Develop operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives and recommend them to leadership. Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production. Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages. Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements. Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards. Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.

Illustrative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the execution of a variety of event technology solutions, provide audio/visual consultation, including virtual registration, mobile apps, virtual events, hybrid events, meeting hub and digital production.

  • Experience with a various event technology platforms and AV equipment (Virtual and Web Conferencing Platforms, Gamification, Attendance/Registration tracking, Appointment Scheduling, Mobile Apps, Communications, Event Analytics, & etc.).

  • Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes. Utilize extensive experience and event knowledge to help develop a plan for the execution of client ideas. Recommend process improvements.

  • Provide support while investigating problems, analyzing root causes, and deriving resolutions.

  • Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years customer support, intake and workflow experience, 1-3 years hands on virtual production experience or client facing work

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and MS Office Suite

  • Virtual Event Platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc). Optional, SharePoint, Visio, Tableau

  • Experience communicating with a diverse audience, including the ability to propose solutions and explanations in writing.

  • Creative, analytical thinkers, capable of handling quantitative and technical duties while also using their eye for design to implement the visual aspects of an event.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage complex calendaring systems and databases.

  • Experience taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to juggle many different tasks, skilled communication with a diverse audience, including ability to propose solutions and explanations in writing and collaborate with a wide range of teams to oversee events.

  • Decision makers, assertive, capable of directing others and implementing projects with little to no supervision.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational or 5+ years of professional experience and/or qualifications.

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and basic graphic design skills

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $59,000-$121,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
