Principal Software Engineer III in Des Moines, Iowa

We have an exciting opportunity on the US Insurance Solutions (USIS) Non-Qualified Team for a Software Engineer who will thrive in a constantly advancing agile culture.

We are looking for an Engineer who can help build upon our core Salesforce platform and other integrated systems. You will need to be flexible and adaptable. Flexible in that you are comfortable playing various roles within the team as needed. And, adaptable in that learning and growing are key as is a willingness to do what it takes.

Your day will be filled with:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate’s degree when defining “equivalent work experience”)

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience in modern technology

  • API Development experience

  • Strongest candidates will have exposure to many of the bullets below

Additional preferred skills/experience:

  • Working within the cloud environment (AWS preferred)

  • Familiarity with Agile/Lean methodology

  • Experience or interests in development practices including TDD, CI, and paired programming

  • Modern JavaScript frameworks and Java development

  • Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning)

  • Mulesoft

  • SQL exposure

This team is primarily located in our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA but are considering remote applicants.
