Principal Software Engineering Leader in Des Moines, Iowa
As an Engineering Leader in Enterprise Data and Applications (EDA), you’ll lead a group of engineers in an Agile Scrum team who work on customer facing applications and capabilities! Here in EDA, we are at the intersection of many strategic and digital initiatives that impact the enterprise! This provides unique opportunities to solve key business problems impacting our customers.
As an engineering leader, you will be performing many functions including providing technology strategy and direction, personnel coaching, and implementing best practices.

Provide coaching and support to the team to mature our engineering practices, grow our DevOps mindset and culture, and improve our systems.
Perform engineering activities in support of the team and delivering business outcomes
Network, communicate and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners
Learn new technology and continuously grow through creative solutioning.
We’re looking for someone with:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience AND
3+ years of development experience in a modern technology
2+ years of informal/formal leadership experience
Cloud experience/interest (preferably AWS)
Basic planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required.
Additional preferred technical experience:
Understanding and familiarity with common software development patterns and best practices
Experience with DevOps practices (TDD, CI, CD, etc.)
Java development background
Willing to consider remote candidates.
