The Role at a Glance

As a Sr. Business Intelligence Consultant, you will define and develop data assets and tools to deliver complex analysis and reporting for Annuity Solutions. In this role you will work with team members to understand critical business questions and the analytical insights needed to address them. You will develop data requirements, assess, and select various data sources, develop easily repeatable methods to source and store data, and create scalable business intelligence solutions to deliver complex data, analytics, and reporting. You will also partner with stakeholders to deliver a strong data foundation for use across functions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive adoption for Annuity Data Solution including such items as managing Teams Channel or website and intake portal for requests.

  • Lead Business Intelligence efforts for Annuity Data Solution including understanding the business need, providing data sets and visualizations for business use cases.

  • Manage the Intake Portal for Annuity Data and Visualization requests.

  • Point of contact for Data Marts and support of self-service analytics.

  • Collects, aggregates, and analyzes data from various sources to provide advanced analytics & reporting that offer insights into business performance and create immediacy and scale.

  • Determines data and analysis needs for their assigned area(s), creates data requirements, and works with other teams to provide robust, high quality data to enable successful achievement of business goals.

  • Supports and manages aspects of cross-functional projects/initiatives

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to evaluate current state of data; supports development of tactical plans to improve data management and resolve complex technical challenges impeding data availability, quality, metric consistency, and credibility

  • Creates dashboards & scorecards utilizing existing and newly developed metrics & performance monitoring systems to provide senior management with quantifiable gauges of business results and impact of plans and tactical initiatives

  • Provides subject matter expertise regarding all data and analytics work.

  • Standardizes and documents processes to enable operational effectiveness, iterative improvement, and business resiliency.

  • Leads process improvements and develops standards for data structure to ensure effective, standardized analytical processes

  • Reviews and critiques complex technical designs and recommends enhancements to various current systems or those under development

  • Participates in and/or leads projects for advanced analytics and predictive & other modeling integration and implementation.

  • Represents Lincoln in various internal & external data forums.

  • Provides overflow & backup support for reporting and ad-hoc requests across functional areas, as needed.

  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.

  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.

  • Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by making suggestions for improvement and continuing to learn new skills, procedures, and processes

  • Performs other duties as required.

Wat we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • 5 – 7+ Years experience in financial planning and analytics directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.

  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.

  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.

  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • SQL and Database knowledge or ability to learn quickly, required.

  • Tableau knowledge required.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Business Objects skills preferred, but not required.

  • Website building skills preferred, but not required.
